Prof. Tinatin Karosanidze, Dean of the Institute of Asia and Africa, Free
University of Tbilisi, Shares His Thoughts on
the KF Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests in Academia

First of all, let me thank once again the Korean Embassy in Georgia and the Korea Foundation for giving me such a great opportunity to explore Korea.
The trip and program were organized on a highest level, all details were well organized. Cultural program gave us so much information about Korea, history, traditions, food, theater, economy and policies. It was interesting and fruitful to meet with 19 participants from different countries and share experience and knowledge in different fields. The meetings with the Korean Foundation, universities, the Korea Unification Institute, the Samsung Innovation Museum, and media that focus on lifelong learning were very interesting and provided a good chance to listen to high-level experts and specialists and share Korean experiences.
Very important was meeting with my colleagues when I gave the presentation about Korean Studies at Free University. What I liked most was their interest in our university policy and management system. They were interested in language teaching methodology at the Institute of Asia and Africa. In spite of the highest level of education, I witnessed in Korean universities, they were open and ready to get information about our experience. We agreed to cooperate in the research field and I do hope, we can organize conferences and they will be able to come to Georgia to participate. During the trip I had a chance to visit the Embassy of Georgia in Seoul and meet with the Ambassador and stuff. This was a good chance for me too to get familiar with them and we talked about future cooperation too.
I can write a lot about my visit in Seoul, Korea, as I loved the country and the city. So, let me inform you that I became a fan and supporter of Korea in Georgia. Special thanks to our translators and organizers who did their best to make us comfortable and happy during the trip. And of course, special thanks to the Korean Embassy in Georgia and Kim In-hwan, a chargé d’affaires of Korean Embassy who gave me the opportunity with the support of the Korean Foundation to explore such a wonderful country. We have much to learn from the Korean experience if we too are to develop our country in a short time.

Best,
Prof. Tinatin Karosanidze
