2019 Korea-Central Asia Next-Generation Leaders Network in the Field of Technology and Standards
On August 4–10, the KF will host a visit of next-generation leaders from the five Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan) who are working in the field of technical regulations and standardization.
During their week-long stay in Korea, the group will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; and other relevant institutions engaging in standards certification and conformity assessment to learn about Korea’s policies for promotion of technological and standardization cooperation. They will also tour cultural sites to foster greater understanding of Korea.
The five Central Asian countries are crucial partners for cooperation under the Korean government’s New Northern Policy. This visit by experts will be helpful in creating a cooperative network and in building the basis for Korean businesses’ advancement into Central Asia. The KF hopes that the invitation will contribute to the sustained development of the Korea-Central Asia partnership into the future.
