Opening Ceremony, “Harmony: Marcin Ryczek’s Photography” Exhibition

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
I’m Gheewhan Kim, president of the Korea Foundation.

It is my real pleasure to present the exhibition "Harmony: the photographs of Marcin Ryczek(마르친 리체크)," internationally renowned and influential Polish artist.

I extend my sincere greetings and gratitude to Amb. Piotr Ostaszewski (피오트르 오스타셰프스키) of the Republic of Poland for enabling the exhibition to be opened in Seoul today.

I also say thank you to excellencies and distinguished guests who are participating in the opening of the exhibition today.

The year 2024 marks 35 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Poland. The friendship and partnership between Korea and Poland stands strong, marked by cultural exchanges, economic cooperation, and mutual trust.

Korea and Poland share common values such as freedom, human rights, rule of law, individual creativity and liberal democracy.

Today’s exhibition showcases mutual appreciation and understanding of rich cultural heritage and artistic achievements of Poland.

Exhibiting Marcin Ryczek's photographs, we are reassured of how artistic brilliance can transcend borders and connect us across nations. Marcin Ryczek captures moments of harmony and peace, and the balance between human being and the nature – themes that resonate beyond Korea and Poland.

I convey my most sincere gratitude to Mr. Marcin Ryczek (마르친 리체크) for sharing his truly remarkable art work, and to everyone who contributed to this wonderful exhibition.
