KF Gallery Exhibition ‘Unwelcome Neighbors: Portraits of “Gypsy” Victims of the Holocaust and Others’
The KF and Sogang University Critical Global Studies Institute (CGSI) will co-host an exhibition titled Unwelcome Neighbors: Portraits of “Gypsy” Victims of the Holocaust and Others at the KF Gallery on January 24–February 28.
The exhibit will show Romani (often referred to as gypsies) in Dessau, Germany, photographed in the 1930s by German photojournalist Hanns Weltzel. Weltzel’s portraits of the Romani have been displayed in Dessau and Liverpool, UK, with this exhibition arking their first time to be shown outside Europe.
Designed to commemorate the United Nations-established International Holocaust Remembrance Day that falls on January 27, the exhibition will be accompanied by special lectures on refugees and minorities. Anyone interested in the Holocaust and related issues is encouraged to join us for this rare exhibit.
