KF Korean Language and Culture Program for Diplomats
2019 Welcoming Ceremony for KF Korean Language and Culture Program for Diplomats
Diplomats from 42 countries are learning Korean language and culture under a KF-sponsored training program in a session that runs from March 11 through May 31. The diplomats will take Korean Language and Korean Studies classes at Seoul National University to improve their understanding of Korea and will also meet with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korea National Diplomatic Academy.
On May 27–30, the diplomats will visit Jeju Island to experience the island’s history and culture. By meeting with provincial officials and attending the Jeju Forum, the diplomats will contribute to the internationalization and development of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and participate in public diplomacy activities in the area.
Through this training program, the KF presents diplomats with opportunities to learn about and better understand Korea, thereby cultivating “Korea experts” who are active in the global diplomatic arena.
