Invitation of Distinguished Journalists from 18 Countries
KF will invite 18 journalists from 18 countries, including New Zealand, China, India, and Croatia, to Korea on May 26–June 1. The group, which is comprised of editors-in-chief and reporters covering international affairs, will pay a call on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a briefing on the political situation on and around the Korean Peninsula. They will also visit the demilitarized zone (DMZ) to cover the site of the much-touted process of establishing peace on the divided peninsula.
From May 29 through 31, the group will attend the Jeju Forum on Jeju Island to discuss the role of the international media in covering Korea-related issues (“Vision for the Peace and Prosperity of Korean Peninsula: the Role of International Media”). The invitation program is expected to serve as an effective opportunity to publicize the Moon administration’s policy on establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula to major global media institutions.
