Korea-Japan Exchange Program for Secondary School Social Science Teachers
Under the mutual recognition that education which can enhance young students' proper understanding about both each other's history and culture can be instrumental in transforming the current Korea-Japan relationship into a more future-oriented partnership, the Korea Foundation and the Japan Foundation are undertaking a joint exchange program of social science teachers. In September and November, there will be exchange visits to help increase the teachers' understanding of each other's history and cultures, which will contribute to the teaching of more balanced viewpoints to their respective students. Under a cooperative agreement on the exchange visit program, the Korea Foundation dispatched, for a 15-day visit (from September 20 to October 4), a delegation of 25 teachers and Education Ministry officials to Japan for their participation in a variety of activities being hosted by the Japan Foundation. In return, 25 Japanese teachers and educators will likewise visit Korea to participate in a Korean Studies workshop and related activities at the invitation of the KF for a period of 15 days (from November 8 to November 22).
