Next-Generation Leaders from Eastern Europe

Under the invitation program of “Next-Generation Leaders’ Visit to Korea,” 10 prominent persons from Eastern European countries will visit Korea during the period March 7 to 14. These Next-Generation Leaders include journalists, editors and diplomats from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia-Montenegro, Austria, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Albania, who are expected to play important roles in enhancing relationships between Korea and their respective countries. During the visit, participants will be briefed and have discussions on Korea’s mass media and status of the press by visiting the Korea Press Foundation, JoongAng Ilbo, Korea Broadcasting System and Department of Mass Communication at Yonsei University. They will also visit the Ministry of Unification, Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security and Korea Economic Research Institute to discuss Korea’s national security issues and economic development. In addition, they will have a chance to sample diverse aspects of Korea by visiting historical sites in Seoul and Gyeongju and by touring Hyundai Motors.
