Support for the 2nd Seoul-Washington-Forum

The Korea Foundation supports the 2nd Seoul-Washington Forum, which will be held at the Seoul Plaza Hotel, Seoul, Korea, on May 14-15, 2007. Co-organized by the Sejong Institute (President: Park Kie-duck) and the Brookings Institution (President: Strobe Talbott), 17 representatives from Korea and 12 from the United States will discuss various agenda items, such as ‘Alliance in Transition: Strengthening Political Trust and Adaptability,’'Six-Party Talks: Seeking a Nuclear-Free Korea,’‘A Peace Process on the Korean Peninsula,’ and ‘Beyond KORUS FTA: Toward Mutually Beneficial Economic Relations.’ This year’s delegation from Korea includes: BAEK Jong-Chun, National Security Adviser to President Roh Moo-hyun); HONG Soon-Young, Former ROK Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; KIM Seung-hoon, President, Sangji University; KIM Young Hee, Adviser and Senior Columnist, JoongAng Daily; LEE Jae-jeong, Minister of Unification; LIM Dong-won, Chairman, Seoul-Washington Forum; PAIK Haksoon, Senior Fellow, Sejong Institute; PARK Kie-Duck, President, Sejong Institute; PARK Kun Young, Professor, Catholic University; SHIM Yoon-joe, Deputy Minster of Foreign Affairs and Trade; YIM Sung-joon, President, Korea Foundation; and YANG Sung Chul, former ROK Ambassador to the United States. Various representatives from the United States will join the forum, including Richard BUSH, Senior Fellow and Director, CNAPS, Brookings Institution; Robert EINHORN, Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Non-Proliferation; James KELLY, Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs; Jack PRITCHARD, President, KEI; Tami OVERBY, President & CEO, AMCHAM Korea, and Alexander VERSHBOW, U.S. Ambassador to Korea.
