The 7th Korea-France Forum will be held at the Seoul Plaza Hotel in Seoul, on January 9-10, under the co-sponsorship of the Korea Foundation (President: YIM Sung-joon) and the IFRI (Institut Francais des Relations Internationales, President: Thierry de Montbrial). Representatives from the government, legislature, business, media and academic spheres from both countries will discuss “Politics in Korea and France – State reform of the new government,” “Perspectives on the world economy and economic cooperation between Korea and the EU,” “Relations between Korea and France: past, present and future” and “Peace and security in Northeast Asia.” This year’s delegation from Korea will consist of 30 members – including National Assemblymen Song Young-gil and Chung Eui-young; Yoo Jung-hwan, Professor, Cheongju University; Cho Don-young, Executive Vice President of Renault Samsung Motors, Lee Su-hoon, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northeast Asian Cooperation Initiative. Sixteen distinguished representatives – including Thierry de Montbrial, President of the IFRI; Patrick Beaudouin, President of the France-Korean Parliamentarians’ Friendship Association; Thierry Berthelot, Counselor of the Embassy of France in Korea; and Pierre Fournier, Deputy Director of the Asia-Oceania Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs – will join the Forum from the French side.
