‘Eternal Images of Sakyamuni: Two Gilt-Bronze Korean National Treasures’ The Korea Foundation has recently published “Eternal Images of Sakyamuni,” which features Gilt-Bronze Pensive Images (National Treasures of Korea No. 78 and No. 83), two masterpieces of Korea’s Buddhist cultural and artistic heritage. With an abundance of vivid photos, this English-language catalog provides an in-depth introduction of the two pensive images, along with a detailed comparison of these ancient Buddhist sculptures. This publication, which was prepared in cooperation with The National Museum of Korea that authorized the taking of new photo images, serves as a valuable source of information on Korea’s Buddhist sculpture for English-language readers, in light of a noticeable lack of reference materials on Korean artifacts in English. Photographed by Han Studio and designed by Yekyong Publishing, the contents and photo images include overviews of two gilt-bronze masterpieces, designated National Treasure No. 78 and National Treasure No. 83, along with a detailed comparison of the two masterpieces of Buddhist sculpture. The numerous photographs reveal various details of the pensive images, from their crown to their pedestal.
