Mr. Ichiriki Masahiko, President of Kahoku Shimpo Publishing Co. in Japan, will visit Korea from June 10 to 14 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.
Kahoku Shimpo Publishing Co. established in 1897 is the largest newspaper company in the northeast region of Japan. Moreover, one of its subsidiaries, TBC TV, owned by his family members, is also the most influential broadcaster in the same area. President Ichiriki is reputed to be the most powerful print and electronic media figure in Sendai city (including Miyagi prefecture) since his previous generation.
During his stay, he is planning to visit JoongAng Ilbo, Daegu Maeil Shinmun (newspaper), Korean Culture and Information Service (KOIS), and the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), and have discussions on mutual cooperation and exchanges in the media field. In addition to that, through visiting Samsung d’light, Nam June Paik Art Center, and The Presseum-Newspaper Museum, he will gain firsthand experiences of advanced economic and cultural aspects in Korea.
