Mr. Hussein Omar Ba Salem, Chairman of ‘Yemen Satellite Channel and Ch-1’ will visit Korea from May 1 to May 7 through the invitation of the Korea Foundation.

Founded in 1976, this government-owned Yemen Satellite Channel includes programs from Yemen's two terrestrial channels. Most of their programs are in Arabic, but they include a news broadcast in English. Yemen TV also presents dramas, aries, religious shows and a variety of public announcements, especially about health.

Serving as the Undersecretary of the Minister of Information in Yemen from 2003 to 2007, Mr. Ba Salem is a prominent personage in the field of broadcasting and media and his visit is expected to help the activation of international exchange for broadcasting programs between the two counties.

During his visit, Mr. Hussein Omar Ba Salem will visit institutes such as the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Korea Educational Broad Casting System (EBS), Korean Culture and Information Service, KOIFC Namyangju Studio, Chung-Ang University, Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) and Korea-Yemen Center to discuss ways to improve the relationship between Korea and Yemen.
