[Invitation] Dr. Jean-Bernard Munch, Chairman of SRG SSR idee suisse, Switzerland

Dr. Jean-Bernard Münch, Chairman of SRG SSR idée suisse (Swiss Broadcasting Corporation) will visit Korea from May 9 to May 15 through the invitation of the Korea Foundation.

SRG SSR idée Suisse is the national public service and main broadcaster of Switzerland. It operates 8 television channels, 18 radio channels and 8 internet sites in German, French, Italian, Rumantsch (the national languages), English, and an internet service in on Internet in 11 languages. Production studios are located in Basel, Bern, Chur, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano and Zürich. There are correspondent offices in Bruxelles, London, Paris, Moscow, Washing and correspondents in over 50 cities around the world.

Having served as the Secretary General (CEO) of the European Broadcasting Union, Dr. Münch is a prominent personage in the field of broadcasting and media not only in Switzerland but also throughout Europe.

During his visit, Dr. Münch will visit the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Korea Telecom (KT), Chosun Ilbo to help the activation of international exchange for broadcasting programs between the two counties. He will also deliver a speech on the topic of “Public broadcaster’s survival strategy in the era of multi-platform & multichannel” in KBS. An overview of Korea’s high-bandwidth broadband services and IPTV will also be given to Dr. Münch.
