[Invitation] Prof. Toma? Vl?ek, Director of the Modern and Contemporary Art Exhibition, National Gallery Prague

Prof. Tomáš Vl?ek, Director of the Modern and Contemporary Art Exhibition, National Gallery Prague, of the Czech Republic, will visit Korea from May 12 to May 16 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

Prof. Vl?ek has given lectures and conducted research on various topics related to art and design, including history of art, for more than 40 years. He has been the Director of the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art at the National Gallery Prague since 2001. Mr. Miroslav Tajc, Head of Economic management Department at the National Gallery Prague is accompanying him during this visit to Korea.

They will celebrate the exhibition of “Moon is the Oldest Clock” held by the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea, and discuss the upcoming tour of the said exhibition in the Czech Republic from August to October, co-sponsored by the Korea Foundation, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. They will also visit locations like the National Museum of Korea and Leeum Museum of Art for a first-hand opportunity to appreciate Korea’s arts and culture.

The National Gallery Prague was established in 1948 under the related law.
