[Invitation] Mr. Ole Rikard Høisæther, Publisher of the Cappelen Damm AS, Norway

Mr. Ole Rikard Høisæther, Publisher of the nonfiction department, the Cappelen Damm AS in Norway will visit Korea from May 26 to 31, 2010 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

Cappelen Damm AS had gradually expanded to become the biggest ever publishing company in Norway, since its establishment in 1829, and now it encompasses almost every sector of the publication industry, covering general culture such as Art, Literature, and Music, as well as Maps and Geography, producing up to six different publications like Verdens Atlas (World Atlas).
In this regard, this visit is expected to be helpful in keeping Norwegians better informed about Korea.

Mr. Høisæther obtained a master’s degree in Art History from Olso University, and he has been an honorary consul, and the Rotary Club’s president. He is thus well-known in diplomatic and social circles in Norway and is influential in intellectual society in Norway.

During the short stay, he is scheduled to visit the Northeast Asian History Foundation, the National Geographic Information Institute and Paju Book City and it is anticipated that he will have fruitful discussions during this visit. Also, he is scheduled to visit the Nam Jun Paik Art Center, the DMZ (Demilitarized zone), and the Seoul International Music Festival 2010, which will give him a good overview of Korean issues and the nation’s arts and culture.
