[Invitation] Prof. Ramon Gonzalez, Chief Justice, Criminal Chamber of Appeal, Supreme Court of Justice and Professor, Faculty of Law, UASD, Dominican Republic

Prof. Ramon Gonzalez, Chief Justice, Criminal Chamber of Appeal, Supreme Court of Justice and Professor, Faculty of Law, UASD, Dominican Republic, will visit Korea from May 30 to June 5 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

The Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), the oldest American university was founded officially in 1914, as the successor to the Universidad Santo Tomás de Aquino, founded in 1538 and closed in 1832. It consists of eight schools, including: Humanities, the Arts, Law, Political Science, Construction and Economics. The status of the school of Economics has the highest prestige in UASD which has an excellent staff of instructors and a wide range of curriculum.

As a Korea-friendly personage in the field of law, he has been giving legal advice to Korean residents abroad. His visit is expected to help activate international exchange in the field of law between the two countries.

During his stay, Prof. Roman Gonzalez will meet with counterparts in order to discuss partnerships in the law field with Seoul University, the Supreme Court of Korea, Supreme Court IT Center, Supreme Prosecutors' Office of the Republic of Korea, the Judicial Research Training Institute. He will also visit the National Museum of Korea, N Seoul Tower, Gyeongbokgung Palace, the National Folk Museum of Korea, Insa-dong, JSA, POSCO and Gyeongju Historical Sites for a first-hand opportunity to appreciate Korea’s past and present.
