[Invitation] Vice-Chancellor of Lund University, Sweden

The Korea Foundation has invited Dr. Per Eriksson, Vice-Chancellor of Lund University to visit Korea from September 5 to 11.

Dr. Eriksson has an M. Sc. In Electrical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications and is Professor in Signal Processing at Lund University. He was President of the Blekinge Institute of Technology from 1989 until 2000. After that, from 2001 to 2008, he was Director-General of VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems.

He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and was awarded the National Prize for Academic Leadership, the “Janne Carlsson Prize” from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

During his stay in Korea, he will visit Korea University, KAIST and LG Life Science to promote positive interactive collaboration. He will also visit SK Telecom Ubiquitous Museum, Samsung d’light and cultural/historic sites in Seoul to experience IT telecom development and other diverse aspects of Korea.

Founded in 1666, Lund University is one of northern Europe's most prestigious universities. Today it is an international centre for research and education with approximately 46, 000 students. Lund has an excellent academic reputation with a large number of visiting professors and international students. It is consistently ranked among the top-100 universities in the world and is the top university in Sweden in the most recent Times Higher Education ranking.
