Mr. Renat Abdullin, President of the Interfax News Agency, Russia, will visit Korea from September 4 to September 10 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.
Mr. Abdullin is a prominent journalist in Russia. After graduating from the Moscow State University, he joined the main news desk of the foreign radio broadcasting department of the state television and radio committee. Mr. Abdullin joined the Interfax news agency in 1989, the year it was established, initially as a freelance journalist before becoming director of the main political news desk. He is an expert on politics news and currently the president of Interfax News Agency as well as the first deputy director-general of Interfax Group.
During his stay, Mr. Abdullin will make an official call on the Minister of Unification to share opinions about inter-Korean issues and meet with counterparts at the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), Yonhap News Agency, the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) and so forth. He will also visit the the National Folk Museum of Korea, DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), Hyundai Motors, and Gyeongju Cultural Sites for a first-hand opportunity to appreciate Korea’s past and present.
