The 5th Korea-ASEAN Cooperation Forum
The Korea Foundation in collaboration with the ISIS (Institute of Security and International Studies will be hosting the 5th Korea-ASEAN Cooperation Forum in Hua Hin, Thailand, on 17(Fri)-18(Sat) December 2010.
The Korea-ASEAN Cooperation Forum was first held in 2006 to strengthen the foundation of building comprehensive and cooperative partnership between Korea and ASEAN through a standing channel for comprehensive discussion and dialogue among diverse figures of both sides.
Korean delegation comprised of experts in various fields, led by the Executive Vice-President of Korea Foundation, KIM Sungyup, and representatives from 10 ASEAN countries will participate in this year’s forum. This year’s forum is expected to bring about lively discussions about ‘Regional Strategic and Political Contours,’ ‘Global Economic Imbalances: Currencies and Economic Cooperation,’ ‘Elections, Democratic Transitions/Consolidations in Korea and ASEAN,’ and ‘Korea in Northeast Asia and ASEAN in Southeast Asia: Common Interests, Dilemmas and Collective Future in the Context of Asian Regionalism’ under the theme of “Prospects After the ASEAN/G20/East Asia/APEC Summits.”
