Mr. Daniel Martinez, Senator of the Uruguayan Parliament, will visit Korea from May 23 to May 29 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

Mr. Martinez majored in Engineering at the University of the Republic, Uruguay, and has worked at Uruguay’s state-owned oil company, ANCAP (Administracion Nacional de Combustibles, Alcoholes y Portland), where he was appointed president in 2005. In 2008, he was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee and became a Senator representing the Socialist Party in 2009.

During his stay, he will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Korea, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), the Small & Medium Business Corporation (SBC), Insung Corporation and POSCO to meet relevant persons and gain a better understanding of Korean politics, industries, science and technologies. He will also tour various museums and sites to experience Korea’s past and present.
