Dr. Jean Tabi Manga, Rector of the University of Yaounde Ⅱ in Republic of Cameroon

Dr. Jean Tabi Manga, Rector of University of Yaounde Ⅱ in Republic of Cameroon, will visit Korea from April 18 to 24, 2011 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

 

He holds a 1986 doctor of letters degree in Linguistics from the University of Paris IV Sorbonne in France.

 

He is equally a member of several distinguished scientific bodies amongst which are the International Society of the History of French as a Second Language (SIHFLES) and the Association of African Intercultural Linguistic Studies (A.E.L.I.A.). 

 

University of Yaounde is one of the premier educational institutions in Cameroon. Yaounde is known for its lengthy history and high reputation among member countries of the Economic Community of Central African States (CEMAC). The visit by Dr. Tabi Manga, Rector of University of Yaounde Ⅱ, is expected to help expand various exchanges, along with enhancing mutual understanding between Korea and Cameroon. It is also a valuable opportunity to discuss possible support measures for a variety of Korean Studies-related departments of the University of Yaounde.

 

During his stay in Korea, he will visit Yeonsei University, Kyounggi University and Korea National Open University (KNOU) to discuss ways to promote Cameroon-Korea cooperation. He will also visit the National Museum of Korea, The Korea Institute of Engergy Research, The Smart Grid Exhibition, and cultural/historic sites in Jeju.
