2019 ASEAN Youth Leader Program to Begin
A nine-day program for ASEAN youth leaders will begin on August 3 to foster young men and women who will serve as bridges between Korea and the ASEAN countries.
The program will be joined by 30 young adults including those from multicultural families with ASEAN backgrounds. Going between Busan and Hanoi, Vietnam, the participants will attend lectures on ASEAN society and culture, visit diplomatic sites, and experience Vietnamese culture along with their peers in the Southeast Asian country.
Three artists will accompany the group, hosting a creative workshop where the youths will learn how to express their experience in the form of art. The artworks d at the workshop will be later displayed at the ASEAN Culture House’s Community Hall.
The program is expected to help the young adults nurture leadership and a sense of community and encourage Korea-ASEAN exchange through education, the common interest of all Korean families including those with ASEAN backgrounds.
